Re: 1998 V70 Starter won't crank with Ignition Key
I think you're on to something suspecting the security system. The relay that you bypassed sounds like the 2/35 starter relay. And if you're locks are also inop, I'd suspect there's a connection. Both are controlled by the 2/76 Central Locking/Anti-Theft Alarm. The lock/alarm provides a ground to th...

Re: '03 C70 Power Windows problem — intermittent performance
FWIW - Cleaning the contacts shouldn't ever be necessary on later model C70's. They use a control module to operate the window motors and the switch never sees any of the high currents that cause problems on S/V and older C's. I think you're on the right track cleaning, adjusting and lubing the driv...

Re: 1999 V70 T5...Abscate no start in Oneonta NY - *now home safe)
Glad you found the problem. When you take your next crack at the failing wire in the hinge harness, you might try replacing it with something more flexible. I've upgraded a number of sections of "moving" wire with arctic grade jacketed wire with a high strand count of copper. Here's are li...

Re: Help me figure this one out. Electrical issue 2000 V70r
Don't rule out the ignition switch. Hands down, it's the most common thing on these cars to cause the kind of problem that you've described. Next in line ( and MUCH less often } are your accessory overload relays. There are the two that handle most of the extra things that don't run through the igni...

Might also be worth digging around for signs of an aftermarket alarm.

Re: New Remote
'98 just needs a 9166200, new or used.
No PIN needed, but it does have to be
set up by a shop with the right gear.

Re: Dim Headlights
2004 V70 AWD t2.5 wagon I also have very dim lights lately. Had a battery at the end of its life so I replaced and lights still dim. I measure 11.69 volts at both low beam plugs. Is this close enough to the 12v or do I have a volt supply problem? I checked the charging system with measurements at t...
