Re: 2007 XC70 timing belt change. Do-able at home?
I just found out from the previous owner that the timing belt was last changed in 2013 at 110,000. It now has 200,000 miles. Is this a job I could do at home on a weekend, or a week, taking my time? I've done lots of mechanical work on my own cars over the years but no timing belts. I have a pretty...

Re: non oem catalytic converter xc70
I would fabricate a new hanger and bracket, the cat body is quite hefty and not very difficult to weld. you'd need to make the hanger and install the exh system so its all aligned, then tack weld the bracket, remove and finish the weld, there isn't much room for anything more than a tack whilst in p...

Re: 2007 XC70 timing belt change. Do-able at home?
Dave That cam pulley lock system you made is genius! I've seen other push in type and would create a false sense of security Especially when dealing with the dual VVT normal procedure end up locking opposite end of camshaft which creates extra work but allows access to cam seals. If cam seals are n...

Re: 2001 V70 2.4T Blower fan stopped working
sounds like the bushing is worn, its rubbing on the housing, they don't usually last very long once they start making noise.

Re: 2002 V70 (Timing belt replacement)
Hi Guys; Just a quick question on what you may have done in the past when you had to replace your timing belt. My P2 has 178k miles on her and is due for the Volvo recommended (every 10 yr.) timing belt replacement. I planned to replace the idler and the tensioner but does everyone also feel the ne...

Re: coolant leak
Coolant leak on a Volvo V70 2.4 turbo. Every 20 to 2hours of driving I need a cup or two of coolant. After turning the car off and waiting 15 or so minuites the overflow tank still has pressure. There is no wet areas on the driver's side or passengers side floor. the oil level is good and no sign o...

Re: 04 v70 bcm codes
Sounds reasonable. BCM (and other computers in general) may also fall into a logical state not thought after by the programmers. I had it in couple of occasions, while messing with the CAN buses. You may need to disconnect a battery for 5 mins. Here we go, this might be the cause, something went mi...

Re: Lost my only key, what are my options?
" I do have a working key fob to it but that's it."
thats the most important thing, the fob contains the coded chip , see if the dealer will cut a new blade, I was quoted $100.
Or you can just swap the lock barrel and blade from the parts car.
