Re: Mixing fluids in power steering causing leak?

Thanks all for the wisdom. Was wondering specifically about *what* makes the fluids incompatible, i.e. what effect mixing them has on the system. It's probably a stretch, but I wondered if this might have any connection to leaks emerging in the first place. In any case, I'll keep topping up, might ...

Re: Computer Code Explainations

Sirdani, please do not post to a number of threads looking for the same answer. Keep it to one or two. As you can see there were some ECM-711A problems before in this forum. But none of them closed, we do not know the results. All of these topics are very old, and users may not active today. That i...

Re: and now the water pump leaks 2001 V70 T5 Auto

Much thanks - I have a nice garage and a large paved area, either one, to set up the car. I plan to zip tie the heck out of the belt to make sure it does not jump a tooth. My T belt looks great - no cracks or signs of wear - but, yeah, if the local parts house can get me the belt and tensioner, I'l...

Re: 2004 XC70 no start - faulty fuel pump and/or electrical connections?

I would spend the money on a vida set up before the pump, you can monitor the pump duty cycle. Direct power to the pump will (with a good pump) pressure readings 80 psi and beyond. It should be regulated by whatever system your uses. Pulling the pump for inspection, be aware it is connected to the s...

Re: 2004 XC70 no start - faulty fuel pump and/or electrical connections?

Get a cheap $3 tire pressure gauge, the long one with the plastic piece that extends out, use it to read fuel pressure at the rail,
if you see 50+ psi the pump is good. Throw the pressure gauge away.

Re: P2 Pre-purchase checklist

keys, you want at least 2 keys.
I checked the fluids in mine, test drove it for 200 yards, floored it and said I'll buy it.
Thats how good the turbo's are compared to the old red block volvo's.

Re: Died while driving, no start, 2003 Volvo V70 base wagon 2.4l, 285,345 miles on the car, 90% interstate highway.

Died while driving, no start, 2003 Volvo V70 base wagon 2.4l, 285,345 miles on the car, 90% interstate highway. Intermittent shutdown for the last 17 months. The first time was assumed to be a six year old battery. Nine more intermittent shutdown, until magic #10, and it has not run in three months...

Re: Died while driving, no start, 2003 Volvo V70 base wagon 2.4l, 285,345 miles on the car, 90% interstate highway.

My thoughts too Jones but I think the 2003 has no PEM and the pump is always run at full demand. No FPS either. I feel like someone else had this same issue before. Any possibility it’s immobilized or something to do with the key? immobilizer stops cranking on mine. Whatever system it has should st...

Re: BCM, CEM, SUM, Multiple DTC's, and Dash Lights S60 R

sitting idle for extended periods can cause problems with green gremlins getting into connectors or rodents snacking on wire looms.

some guys had to reseat the computer after cleaning the pins and socket with de-oxit spray.
