Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
In the last week or so I've done all the fun jobs on my 04 XC70. Throttle Body. Pads and discs on all 4, rear calipers, master cylinder and booster. I haven't worked on my car(s) in years, haven't had the time. I think this has been the most theraputic few days I've had in a while (other than the fa...

Re: High beams not working.
Now with daylight savings, I am driving my 2002 v70xc in the dark more often. When I turn on the high beams, the indication light comes on, I hear a relay click, but the high beam lights do not come on. This has happened before, but intermittently. If I turned the high beams on and off a bunch of t...

Re: Autozone starter and alternator test failed.
Best bang for the bucks:
- Costco ---> Interstate L3, L5 etc...$120 or so.
- Home Depot carries Exide for similar prices.
Similar batteries at AutoZone, Advanced Auto etc...Add another $50! It is a ripoff at the Auto parts stores...

Re: Autozone starter and alternator test failed.
So is there a risk of shorting the battery with the cover installed? I checked it with a multimeter and it seemed that the metal hold down was not conductive, but I assume it may be if the battery jostled and scratched it. yes, the cover is very conductive, you are missing the plastic battery cover...

Re: Right rear shock bad.
Here’s the link to a post that I did on this job a couple years ago, it’s easy and can be done in a few hours with basic tools. Hope this helps.

Re: Can't get drivers side axle out.
Tomorrow I’m going to harbor freight to get a chisel and then autozone to get a slide hammer. Is there anything else I should get? If this doesn’t work I’m going to give up. I’m pretty sure the passenger side axle was causing the most of the vibration. I did push and pull on the axle shaft a lot co...

Re: Can't get drivers side axle out.
The locking ring should hold it in place, but yes it is suppose to look like the old one. If you couldn't yank off the axle then it should be good. It might be that they got lazy with the proper dimensions. Ok so you cheapened out on the axle. I did as well, and it lasted me under 2 years. I unders...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
The endlink/droplink usually is very difficult to torque back and it isn't always apparent that there is still some slack from the nut, the reason is that the stabilizer bar pushes on either side if the whole front isn't lifted off the ground. My axle had a rubber bushing which I diligently made sur...

Re: 06' V70 Front End Damage Repair
It took quite a while to get the bumper painted, but the body shop finally got me in last week. They agreed that I can deliver the bumper disassembled, which saved a bit of money. It still cost $565, but they did a really nice job. The paint matches the car almost perfectly, only the hood is a littl...
