Re: Broken Gas Door Hinge Fix

From what I've seen it's something like a plastic peg.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

Finally changed the oil in the S70.... Mahle filter and Rotella T6 5w40. Hi, How do you get under the car? I was in my uncles heated garage, so I used a floor jack, and a small jack stand on the passenger side.... at the risk of some old oil running to the driver's side in the pan. I put the floor ...

On sunny (but still wet/cold-39F) days like this, I look longingly at the 850 that's waiting for me
🥶???
Just realized that looks like negative 39. It was above zero, not below....actually reached low 40s.

A couple of Volvo videos I think folks will enjoy

I just finished this one. Super nice looking 740 when they get done with it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MISElbaG3Y This one is an 850R, but I haven't watched it yet. I have seen a number of AmmoNYC videos, which are enjoyable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqVl5AI5ESg I sure am looking forwa...

Re: 1997 850 Engine & Transmission oil change results / requesting feedback

I don't understand, why were you surprised that 6 month old transmission fluid still looked good? Why were you changing it already? It was not 6 month old transmission oil, I only changed 3.5 quarts 6 months ago, full capacity is 8 quarts. I see. I didn't think about the amount that stays in the to...

Jreed, I think it was taken care of already. If you click on the username it doesn't exist anymore.

Some how they work together, though.

Re: Do it yourself ABS module repair.

Off all the things that could go wrong with the ABS, the motor would not be something I'd worry about. The modules are known to go bad, and wheel sensors and wiring get exposed to road debris and flexing. I'd suspect the wiring going to the wheels before the motor. Even with a motor error being repo...

Re: 1997 Volvo 850 GLT Tie Rods

It's my understanding that in general outer tie-rod ends get more wear due to greater movement during use. This seems to be true on my truck. I would likely replace just the outers unless the inners were obviously bad. Both my Volvos are low mileage so I haven't had to deal with this on a P80.
