Re: 03' V70 2.4T rats and lousy parts quality, what to do?

Also, your daughter's V70 did a great job teaching that rat to not chew on the wires! I wish my 2001 V70 had done the same thing before the carbon canister vent solenoid wiring was damaged.

Re: 04 V70; Brake lights don’t work, position lights stay on with ignition off

I try to save the original list of codes for reference before erasing so I know if the code is a repeat. That is a long code list! There is a tab where you can print the codes and I select print to PDF to save them. I had problems with the CEM module and the right turn signal not flashing and not tu...

Re: '01 Idle Stumble/Surges

There was a recall for the 2001 electric radiator fans: https://www.tsbsearch.com/Volvo/SMB-26-141 There are also problems with the voltage regulator for the alternator but it is replaceable with the updated design (only worth doing separately if the bearings are still smooth): https://www.fcpeuro.c...

Re: 04 S80 and XC70 part interchangeability

Re: 2004 XC70 Dreaded Passenger Comp. Leak

The Z shaped trim on the bottom edge of the windshield is directly above the HVAC blower opening. If the channel that needs to seal on the windshield leaks, you get water in to blower fan area that ends up dripping out onto the floor. I pulled the Z channel on my post-windshield-replacement leaky ca...

Re: Odometer/Clock LCD Backlight Faults - 2004 V70 2.5T

My 2004 XC70 had DIM (Driver Information Module) problems where the trip computer was stopping working and some of the gauges were dim (not bright). I watched a good YouTube video where the module was disassembled and the surface mounted electronics were re-soldered, AKA re-flowed, to fix the electr...

Re: Advice on AC clutch vs entire unit.

Have you tried the factory shim kit for adjusting the gap to the correct gap? https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-a-c-compressor-shim-kit-genuine-volvo-31332161 I have adjusted several high mileage AC clutches to the 0.3mm feeler gauge gap and replaced the idler bearing while I was doing the work...

Re: Thermostat recommendations - 06 XC70

I tried to replace just the thermostat inside the later P2 aluminum housing and found that the individual thermostat and gasket are not available. The part number is stamped on the thermostat inside the aluminum housing. There are posts on this website about using the early thermostat housing along ...

Re: 2001 V70 XC Parking Lights

Try to find the Electrical Wiring Diagrams for the 2002 Volvo V70. I haven't been able to find the 2001 edition online but 2002 was available and is very close to the same. The Light Switch Module (LSM) just sends CAN (Controller Area Network) signals to other vehicle modules. The Central Electronic...
