Re: What the hell is this?
There was a period of time where the windshield and headlight washer pumps had really bad corrosion protection. I found that the pumps out of the late 2007 cars are very rust resistant. The pick-n-pull junkyards have good parts that didn't die due to road salt.

Re: Green electrical connector crimp tool?
I use this Matco crimper for almost everything automotive: https://www.matcotools.com/catalog/product/mobct1424/open-barrel-crimping-tool I purchased this tool for home and for work after seeing it many years ago on a Chrysler mechanic's workbench. If you are very careful, it works for almost every ...

Re: Broken coil spring '07 V70 136K
Spring snapping is relatively random. The springs have painted on color codes for different spring force and rates that can be hard to find a matching replacement or pair of replacements. Heavier cars with third row seating and other options get stronger springs. Put the broken surfaces under a stro...

Re: problems after second original ETM replacement
I had random problems for several years with my 2001 Moondust V70 not idling correctly, rough driving, and having power problems. It ended up being a Variable Valve Timing solenoid sticking. The dealer looked at it twice and couldn't find the problem. The ETM was replaced twice. Eventually it got ba...

Re: FIX that DDM instead of replace?..is it possible??
If you can find a P2 Volvo of the same model year at a pick-and-pull junkyard, that is the lowest cost way to get a door module for testing. Check to verify the Volvo part number is identical and it should work. Spare modules with different part numbers/model years are a good source of spare parts b...

Re: Front Passenger Door Window Switch Question
There is a screw underneath the switch for removing/installing a new handle. There are 6 plastic tabs and a T25 screw (already removed in your picture) holding the module to the door panel. I use a small and long screwdriver to release the three plastic tabs between the module and the door panel fir...

Re: 2007 XC70 (P2) - Excessive Vibrations Under Acceleration
Removing the lower control arms is difficult the first couple times. Replacing the bushings is not easy unless you have a hydraulic press. Buying the 4 new bushings is much less expensive than any other option - get the OE Lemforder brand. Here are a couple pictures of how I pressed out the bushings...

2004 Volvo HU-613 radio switch repair procedure
Hello Volvo repairing people! I found a solution for HU-613 radio knobs for volume, disk/channel, and source that are working intermittently. There is contamination inside the switch and by de-soldering and disassembling the switch, it can be cleaned, re-lubed, re-assembled, and soldered back onto t...

Re: Air Bag Removal
I found that the right length and size allen wrench works much easier than any screwdriver. I am away from my tool kit for a few days so I can't send the dimensions. It is around 4-5mm / 1/4" and long enough to bottom out. One side always pops loose easier than the other side. Often I have to s...
