Re: Electrical issues questions - P1 C30

On my quick ebay search I was able to find entire engine bay harness for c30 located in Canada for about $250US or best offer. If the money are not very tight and existing wiring is in dire shape...yes it is a lot of work to replace harness, but not too terribly bad. This way you can hope that wires...

Re: Electrical issues questions - P1 C30

I will take a look for that harness as parts of the existing are not great. Thank for the paste suggestion. I jut watched a video on someone cleaning the contacts on the CEM following a sunroof drain leak. I still have to check that as they have had that issue. I'm not sure what in there could caus...

Re: XC70 throw ECM-671C after replacing camshaft position sensor

Average new car is 55k or so. Yes, we all spend more on our old volvos than they are worth on marketplace. PPS would be my primary suspect at this point and I would much rather replace it with used oem. If you had no codes after replacing the timming belt and related items doubt the issue is there, ...

PPS-ProPartsSweden.
IMHO all 5cyl are almost the same with minor differences. Main difference might be 1vvt hub vs 2vvt system.

Re: XC70 throw ECM-671C after replacing camshaft position sensor

Pardon me, couldn't resist..
Your location makes this way easier. Just bring it to the "school for gifted" and someone from X-man will fix it.

Comparison of vacuum oil change vs conventional method.

2016 xc70 T5(5cyl). Despite wonderful recommendations from Volvo to change oil every 10k I prefer to change it every 5k(or once a year whichever happens first). Since on this car you dont have to drop the splash guard to change oil filter, I decided to compare vacuum oil change method (from Harbor F...

Re: 2001 V70 Not Included In Airbag Recall?

I think scot850 has the the right idea. I am surprised that your dealer is not willing to be more helpful with this issue(warranty work is easy money for service department, especially such repair). I would probably try different dealer if one is available in your area with detailed explanation of o...

Re: Can using No-ox-it cause slow starting?

I would question that. NO-OX-Id is specially formulated to conduct electricity. It is not a dielectric grease. I have it on all my volvo fleet at the batery terminals and main engine grounds. My local Ford dealer used it when they installed batery on my F150 recently as well(without me asking, it is...

Re: Tricks for finding a coolant leak

I feel like many members here would advocate for pressure testing the system at this time. Some crafty members were able to drill spare coolant cap and install pressurizing port/valve there. Some(me), would be too lazy to do it and would pay dealer/shop 1 hour labor just not to do it. Some, would go...
