Not sure if you had an oil and filter change on the to-do list, but that's something I would do before starting it up for the first time in a few years.

Thanks for the follow up questions.... really appreciate the input. The car does have the cabin air intake filter installed and there is a newish filter that I installed about 4-6 months ago. The tape goes over the outside of the lines, to keep dirt, water and debris from getting into the seal area between the connections on the filter and the lines. I checked the tightness of the hose clamps on the short turbo outlet hose (9179002) using a new tool... a 12pt 7mm swivel socket wrench. This little guy fits into the tight spots:

Volvo ignition coil... don't crack it like I did
I was looking for something to do on the 850 so I decided to clean the terminals to the original coil (Volvo PN 1275174)... I know this is not really required or perhaps even advisable. I was just tinkering on a sunny morning. When I loosened the positive nut, the whole bolt and terminal twisted too...

Agreed. I had been hunting for the 7mm for quite a while, and already had 8mm up to 17 or 19mm from previous shopping.

On this one, the other end of the 7mm is a 6mm. I think I've also seen another version with a 1/4" on one end and a 7mm on the other end.
