Re: Volvo 850 GLT 2,5 20 V Gasoline water pump paper Seal

I think (but do not know) that the gasket design is the same for all of the water pump vendors (Aisin, HEPU, SKF, etc.) because the mating surface on the engine is what determines the shape and location of bolt holes for the gasket. You can get a water pump gasket (Volvo part number 30677767) from a...

Re: 1999 S70 NA Evita right front caliper hot 30648017 (crappy caliper slide bolts)

Agreed with the above. I swapped my original Volvo slide pins into the rebuilt calipers I bought a few years ago, and they were still looking good when I installed new brake pads last weekend. The slide pins that came with the rebuilt caliper were strongly attracted by a magnet (indicating that thos...

Re: Large Evaporative Emissions Leak 1998 V70 non-turbo

I have a '97 855 light pressure turbo wagon so this may not apply to your situation, but I also have the charcoal canister in the left front fender so there may be some similarities. Here are the other parts of my car besides the charcoal canister hoses that have failed and caused an evap code: the ...

Re: Instrument Cluster Failure

It might be a good idea to check the connector at the ABS control module and the connectors going into the back of the instrument cluster. If they're loose, corroded or damaged they could cause the gauges to stop working.

Re: 93 850 Recirc damper motor calibration?

I haven't done the calibration procedure before, so I can't offer help on that.
But, I have replaced the damper motors before. If you rotate the replacement damper to the same position that the old one was in when you removed it, you may not have to do a recalibration.

Re: 1996 850 Battery Drain Overnight - Yellow Wire Problem

For what it's worth, my '97 855 GLT also has the same yellow wire going to the positive battery terminal.

Re: crankshaft position sensor-

This post suggests VDO is the OE: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=58548#p297548 I just bought a VDO (Continental) crankshaft sensor from FCP, who list it as OE, and there is a spot on the insulation about halfway down the cable that has been abraded away by hand. This is som...

Need advice on best way to repair tailgate leak at hinge

After rainstorms, we started noticing a few drops of water coming into the left hand side of our wagon near the tailgate. The water drips down the plastic trim on the inside of the back pillar. I put a plastic bag on the outside of the car over the roof and back left corner of the tailgate during th...
