Re: 1996 Volvo 850R, No AC and ECC Blower (Speed 4)

Just to clarify which system you have,
Are there 4 speeds for the blower ( MCC ),
or a continuously variable slider? ( ECC )

Path to Restoration Glory for a 1999 V70 N/A

Greetings all, I have been a lurker on this site for the past three years. I purchased a 1999 V70 Base model. I have to say, I love it. I have driven hundreds of vehicles in my life, and so far this is the most comfortable vehicle. However, this car is now old enough to drink here in the USA, so it ...

Re: Removing stubborn ABS module bolt

I know some have had luck using a regular M4 socket. I would suggest re-fitting at least one of the 'good' bolts to take the weight of the ABS module while battling the bad one. As the car is a turbo, did you remove the turbo intake pipe? In the automatics, the cable for the PnP switch if I recall ...

One more timing belt "how to" post - itemized steps and tips

I spent some time reviewing videos and forums, to find out how to replace the timing belt on my 1998 S70T. Mine has the same tensioner/pulley as the 850s did - this how-to is not for the late '98 through 2000 cars. One of the things I learned is, water pump and tensioner are suggested to replace eve...

Re: Need advice on best way to repair tailgate leak at hinge

As you probably know, those are the mounting holes for the roof rail bolts. They are a tar type, I guess, 'self-healing' type material so that when the bolt passes through it, it seals against the threads to stop it leaking. I've seen it leak there on roof rails as they age also. Thanks for the educ...

Re: ABS system work fixed my odometer but not my speedo

Seems to have been fixed by using better quality contact cleaner for the instrument cluster harness connector, one that removes oxidation and not just contaminants. Hopefully this helps someone.
