Just got 2 FOB’s programmed remotely by Total Auto Tech
I just had two new full FOB’s programmed for my 2005 Volvo XC70 by Total Auto Tech. I purchased the two remotes off eBay extra-partss1 for $53.95. I had the two blades cut locally for $80 and Total Auto Tech remoted in to my computer which was hooked up to my XC via my DICE unit. They did a great jo...

Re: Yet another transmission question - slipping
In this situation, I would first ask how many miles are on the XC90, what fluid was used, and which engine? Was the fluid change a simple drain & fill, only changing maximum 4 quarts? Transmission fluid for the TF-80SC should be first changed at 60k-80k miles, then 20k-40k mile intervals after t...

Re: 850R modified ECU
It isn't a "modified" ECU. It's a stock 628 R ECU that would be a drop in for the non-R HPTs.
Misleading ad is misleading.

Re: 850r failing emissions miserably (HC and CO)
Adding in my $0.02 worth here... High HC and CO are the result of incomplete combustion. It's trying to burn, but some fuel molecules don't burn at all (so you get HC), and some only burn part way (to CO, not all the way to CO2). This happens when you are running rich, too much fuel / not enough air...

Re: Rehabilitating the T5M
On the 04 C70, had they taken the unique subframe brace? I'm still hoping to find one of those some day. * https://www.swedespeed.com/threads/p80-c70-subframe-chassis-brace.662317/ * I'm now the proud owner of a C70 subframe brace thanks to MoVolvos directing me to a seller on SwedeSpeed. The selle...

Re: What does this part do - #8677893
Same principle as the ejector fuel. “Pump “ on the left side of the fuel tank of your R , except it “ moves “ vacuum instead of fuel In an nA car the intake manifold never gets pressure so you just hook it the brake vacuum reservoir and let it suck. On a turbo, the IM ranges from about -0.5 atmosphe...

Re: Aftermarket flip key problem 2003 XC90
Volvo key has an RF transponder embedded for authorization (antenna ring around the ignition switch, UEM does the check). Exactly as you describe, key will turn in the ignition lock but engine starter will not engage without the key transponder being programmed to the vehicle. The remote is a separa...

Re: Leak from fuel tank when filling up!
The repair was finished after finding fuel safe silicon fuel hose to use as the pipe joiner.. This has worked perfectly and the car sails through mot inspection... I used cv boot clips to secure the pipe in place and it looks intentional and factory standard.. No leaks and it is still holding strong..
