My (mis)Adventures with the BRAKE FAILURE-STOP SAFELY Message
It all started when my wife was going to run errands. She started our ‘07 XC-90 3.2L and immediately came and got me. ABS, anti-skid, brake, and the red triangle of doom were all lit along with the “Brake failure stop safely” message. I’ve never had this message appear before, so my first thought wa...

Re: New owner of a 2007 V70, big problems? The oil is real.
The band clamp secures the front alum housing to the hot cast iron rear section. Drain half the coolant, disconnect all the feed and return pipes....some from up top and some from below. The coolant pipe will still give you a shower as coolant is trapped in the feed pipe, be ready with a cloth. Disc...

Re: How To Unlock Car When Key Is Inside
There are a lot of newer vehicles that make it more difficult to use a "slim-jim" to unlock a vehicle door. The side impact beam also can interfere with access. If AAA or a locksmith doesn't have a wedge airbag nowadays, then don't rust them. That is really the only way to gain access for ...

Re: Does soldering wires change resistance? Answered?
To answer your post question, no. As long as you have clean copper, good quality 60/40 rosin core solder ( I prefer a smaller diameter, like .031" ) and can handle a soldering iron, this should be a non-issue. The shrink goes on first! Ask me how I know... Try to to use a good quality, dual-wal...

Re: Vida CEM swapping
Continuing my TCM reverse engineering I stumbled upon a constant that seemed related to gear ratios. It is calculated like so: (((37699 * 314) / 2440) * 4096) / 10000 = const The reason for the integer multiplication is for errorrless multiplication. So 37699 could be 3769.9 or 3.7699. 314 could be ...
