Re: Innova 3100c
I went to Walmart this morning and got the HT100 code reader. It was able to pull up a code....PO442, so I'm back to reading OBD2 faults again.

Re: Buying (maybe) Volvo 850 1996
I managed to remove the PCV system without breaking it! (well that one vacuum line was pre-broken) https://i.imgur.com/AHR3DDFh.jpg But then I managed to break the plastic pipe going from the oil trap to the throttle body. But I think I can replace it, perhaps with a steel pipe instead. Already got ...

Re: 2007: Volvo S40, N/A, White, 121K, 5-speed
Tow truck stopped by today. The end of an era... I would've given this car away to someone in the MVS family. But I guess those electrical gremlins really are a doozy. Thanks everyone for all their help over the years. It's kind of wild not seeing her in the driveway after all these years.

Re: DIY: 2004 V70 2.5T Axle and Seal (110K miles) Volvo 6843112; Corteco 19033885B R side: Volvo 9495018; Corteco 19034
Thoughts about the "If you have a leak before the seal job" comment above: Unlike on P80 cars, on these P2 cars you will not see transmission fluid leak out of the axle shaft; the axle end is dry in the transmission. The axle seal on these cars is there to keep water (and other debris) out...

Re: How-to: Replacing the Thermostat Housing on a Newer P2 Without Touching the Power Steering
OK, The 2006 S60 with 106K miles needs some basic maintenance... - I combined the tstat job (I use Facet brand this time, made in Italy) with the infamous Banjo bolt replacement. - Also cleaned the PCV orifice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lnzDzYtuPl8 1. You must watch the youtube video on P2 S60...

Re: 2007 Volvo V50 Stalling and Power issues
The sudden shutdowns are a bad connection, not a bad alternator. Start with the alternator connections, though, as this is where the power comes from to run the car. (One CAN run a car's spark plugs on pure battery for a little while with a dead generator/alternator, but that would be a simple car w...

Re: Likely hood of bent valves with broken timing belt
My 2005 xc90 has the same 5 cylinder interference engine as all the p80s. My timing belt broke while sitting in traffic. I did not know this at the time and spent several weeks troubleshooting the problem. In that time I turned the engine over like 1000 times. When I discovered the broken timing bel...

Re: 2000 V70 (P2) Fuel pump relay
Hi all new to site, not Volvo, this one is number 6!! A little addendum on the 2001 UK V70 the cabin CEM is located up inside the dashboard, requiring the removal of the panel below the steering wheel. Two T25 screws a small plastic pry bar and a lot of bad language to clear the panel for removal. T...

Re: What non automotive projects and repairs are you doing?
I just bought a Onewheel GT, learning to “shred the Gnar” without breaking any bones in the process! This thing is so much fun but I don’t feel confident on it yet.
