Re: Fix or Scrap?

Following surgery I will have Yetrude’s remains towed to my home for striping. The high milage engine will be scrapped with my mechanic - but I will have him strip some low milage parts all recently replaced according to service records: Any additional easy to grab (I am paying labor) that anyone t...

Robert just tricked one into running by thumping the bottom of the tank with his fist - with the key in the run position, naturally. He and Handy Dan drove 20-odd miles back to Dan's place for the real repair.

If you have access to a sniffer, or one of the parts places has a loaner, that can be instructional too...

Re: S70 ran out of oil :(

Point of conversation, white blocks don't have rocker arms.
As suggested, running it at low rpm and lightly loaded may get the lifters to pump up again; a question to ask is where did the oil go, and why didn't the low oil pressure light announce itself ?

Re: S70 ran out of oil :(

Careful with Seafoam, the secret ingredient is odorless kerosene. It will thin out whatever oil is in the engine. Clean oil and time may be the best hope.

I am offering up the rest of her to anyone from the group who would like it for free as long as you tow her away by July 25th.
Maybe post in Classifieds as well, and although I don't participate, there may be a local Volvo group on Facebook. Beware the Loonies.

Re: BaT Megathread

Interesting, a catamaran in 1925? And why "surface-piercing" props? Is that more efficient? Although I think hydroplane props are like that, just the bottom part in the water. Gar Wood - who made his fortune in the trash hauling business - had Christopher Columbus Smith build the first mo...
