Re: Rear trans/engine support bracket missing/sheared bolts
The broken bolt is the upper hole. I have no way to see into it but if I I poke into it with a stick or similar I can feel it just barely go in and hit something solid. I'm assuming it's a sheared bolt. I want to avoid installing 2 out of the three only for both of them to shear. The single bolt le...

Re: Parting out cars online etc or just send them to the junkyard?
What's already mentioned - although if the fuel pump relays are original to the cars, save them as emergency backup for your own ride; they have no value in the marketplace. ETM and the ECM on the T5, MAF, you already mentioned the blend door motors but the control modules are items of interest, blo...

Re: Valvoline Restore & Protect for 850?
The engine oil recommendations in the owners manual were based on best practices at that moment in time; oil chemistry has changed, even in the last decade, so it takes some study to find a product for our application. This fellow is a bit...Enthusiastic, but he is a chemical engineer working in bot...

Re: WTB: Cross bars/roof rack for the 98' S/V70 (Northern VA)
Abscate has a fleet of wagons, you seem to have a sedan. That rig will only work with the stock fore-and-aft rails, and fabricating the athwartship crossmembers. You seem to be looking for the cross roof bars that clamp under the drip rail ? Ah, yes, I completely overlooked that I would need factor...

Re: Volvo Radio Code - 1998 Volvo V70R (SC-900)
In the States this works - but the first try here may get the same answer already given: https://volvo.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9331/~/obtain-your-radio-code But I recall being able to give them the unit serial number and they came up with a good code. And local dealership parts departme...

Back when it was just 'My Car'
Came back from my Adventure in the Pacific, stumbled over a lightly wrecked '69 1800, fixed it and put 500,000 miles on it, no mercy shown whatsoever. Never left me walking. Death by rust in the front frame rails behind the steering box - back when they were just old used cars and there wasn't much ...
