Re: 04 v70 tailgate open
window heater wire sounds likely, that was the scene of the repair. I don't think the rear window heater is part of the tailgate closed wire path. There should be a separate wire film pattern on the rear window with a different set of wires going to it, the pink wire from the 54/50 connector and a ...

Re: low voltage at purge valve. ‘04 XC70 Help from experienced owners!
Right. So I am definitely getting a code on this. Currently looking into another ecm lined up in case I ruin this one. I’m going to do some careful (grounded) checking of the circuits and see if there is a fault in the resistor. Uncharted waters for me, but worth it to keep the car running! I will k...

Re: High beams not working.
The relay looked like this. I swapped it with the one for the fog lights, and now the high beams work!

Re: Steering locks up mid turn, engine stalls
I'm assuming you're thinking the stalling is an ignition problem? My take on the stalling mentioned, based on the description of the lock up, is that it's from an excessive load on the PS pump due to an actual mechanical binding problem or a problem with PS pump pressure getting too high for some r...

Re: Steering locks up mid turn, engine stalls
Alright, looks like the new power steering pump did the trick and the car is now fixed! One thing I noticed was that the hose clamp on the suction hose from the reservoir to the ps pump was loose and the pump was likely intermittently sucking in air and momentarily stalling the engine. I used to hav...

Re: Extreme blow-by - No sludge in Oil Pan - 2007 XC70
Definitely want to replace the PCV components before the pressure pushes out cam seals or main seals. Keep the dipstick out a bit if you have to drive it to relieve the pressure, maybe cut a slot in the oil cap rubber gasket too. FCPEuro sells the whole kit. Not very technical but a lengthy process,...

Re: Greetings from germany and a question about high idling my V70R
Moin,
so the culprit was the TBM, changed it to a Bosch Unit (0 280 750 131), adapt it with VIDA and after short warming up, the engine stayed at one RPM in the Range for TÜV.
Thanks for the Help! Good thing i found this place.

Corrupt CEM Non Start Investigation and Repair Tutorial
Hi everyone, Thought I'd add a little tutorial for the P2 vehicles. For anyone who doesn't know me I'm an autoelectrician. I don't just play with wires like most, I dive deep into the inner workings of the flash files too for a better understanding. I work on Volvo's quite a bit along with other man...

Re: P2121 and P2122 OBD codes, "Reduced Engine Performance" message, engine will not rev above 1,000 RPM in Drive on 200
UPDATE! Problem solved! I removed the FMI1 relay for the A/C, replaced the 10A fuse in the #8 position of the underhood fuse box and everything was normal again. Now, my next task is to track down the short in the A/C compressor/clutch wiring. Luckily, here in the Pacific NW, I won't be needing A/C ...
