Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Holy mackerel Crasbe. I was trying to figure out exactly what I was looking at and then clicked the link. That’s some project you’ve got going there. Best of luck and have fun with that. Coincidentally just bought the kick panel repair piece and some lock button bezels off your Etsy site yesterday. ...

Re: Parts brands - OE Volvo, trusted aftermarket, and bad
FCP is offering “clearance” prices on some Volvo stuff in the latest email received this am. I’m thinking of taking advantage of of few. The Nissens evaporator for $66. They also have the Rein for $100. (Not a clearance price). Any preferences in the group, past experiences with either one? I will g...

Re: SRS Question
https://thosbryant.wordpress.com/2018/11/17/1999-volvo-v70-s70-passenger-airbag-removal/ I had the SRS lights on from the time I bought my car for whatever reason and two indie shops said it was an issue not in their repertoire. Saw somewhere here I believe that by disconnecting and reconnecting tho...

Re: Essential tools for DIY Volvo care.
Jonesg, ….I need to know, where does one buy a quality flare wrench set for $13? I just spent $23 for a 13mm SK flare wrench to do front brakes on my truck. My old Craftsmen showed signs of spreading and rounding a nut on the Volvo a couple years ago. Spend some real money on your flare wrenches. Wh...

Re: Essential tools for DIY Volvo care.
SATA and Tekton aren’t included here but it’s a good overview of the landscape of tool quality. From what I’ve read (Garage Journal and Reddit tool forums I don’t think I’d use SATA’s on my brake lines.

Re: Struts for 99 V700
Thank you Neil. I regard your opinion highly and since you have affirmed my carefully considered first choices I will go that route. I’ve seen some strong opinions against the Monroe’s and no strong defense.of them. The car is a very nice “low” mileage (203k miles) vehicle and I’ve avoided using oth...

Re: No Communication with srs on vida, s70 2000
I don’t know if this changed by 2000, but I had the same issue with my 99 three years ago. I bought the VIDA laptop with Mongoose JLR cable from Diagnostic Laptops. Swore it would read, diagnose, and reset the SRS module/light. It would not. When I’d click on anything to do with SRS it would display...

Re: 99 v70 SMI steering rack replacements recommendations
Thank you for all this Abscate. I dither over this stuff and make myself miserable. I continue to read and it seems like every brand has their issues, with Car Done getting dissed badly as you’ve noted in the trusted parts thread. I am considering the Detroit Axle now. I get to keep my rack for free...
