Re: Compressor Bypass Valve Missing Bolt
I recall those being 6mm 1.0 x 20 mm long bolts. you can get those at home depot, lowe's, tractor supply, etc. it is not a special bolt. Get a flat washer for it so it doesn't dig into the aluminum of the bypass valve body.

Re: If you have been waiting to buy a new Volvo check the 2020 XC60
R1234yf systems a THX coaxial line to add to the condensing of the refrigerant. The high side line making that 90 degree bend to go into the low side line is the start of that coaxial high side line inside low side line section. At the expansion valve the line connects still in that configuration so...

Re: rough idle especially in reverse with wheel turned to the right
Check motor mounts and the orque mount and look at the hose that comes from MAF sensor to turbo inlet. The motor moves a different way fore-aft for reverse and the engine moves left -right due to steering rack being on the subframe and subframe mounting the car body with rubber bushed mounts. You ma...

Re: Oil viscosity and the owners' manual
The white engines are all about tight tolerances and they hold those bearing clearances for a long long time unless the engine is not serviced or run with low oil level or no or low oil pressure. The crankshaft and block bearing recesses are measured and the selective bearings are the ways that is a...

Re: 2010 XC 60 CATALYTIC CONVERTER R AND R
Disconnect exhaust pipe at 6 bolt double pipe flange, remove the right axle, remove rear driveshaft from angle gear, and then remove the angle gear. With the angle gear out of the way the support bracket bolts and the cat to turbo bolts are accessible.

Re: What is this valve near air filter box connects to intake?
electric vacuum pump switch. Provides vaccum for power brake booster when engine vacuum is too low (cold starts, especially at altitude).
The electric switch end looks to be broken off that one. The brown connector would go on a two wire switch.

Re: What is this valve near air filter box connects to intake?
The exhaust cam is advanced to allow still burning fuel to exit to warm catalyst and to eliminate the need for the previously used exhaust air injection pump. I am a crank and go person so I could feel hard brakes at low altitude in cold weather when I started and selected a gear. The time when ther...

Re: Volvo 440 SRS Light On - No Fault
The SRS light is different than other warning lights. It is default on unless the SRS module turns the light off. If the connection on cluster for the wire to SRS module is off or otherwise not a good connection then the light is on. It is this way in the event the SRS fuse was to blow, SRS module w...

Re: 2.5T Oil pump bolts: sealant or none?
They should have copper washers. Sealant on underside of head would do. This is done as a surety measure in the even there is porosity or the casting allowed the drill and tap of the oil pump bolt holes to go through. The gasket would stop oil from passing across the back face of pump but do nothing...
