Re: no rear wheel drive on 2007 XC70
The haldex/AOC is filled with something most like motor oil. It is not as thick and does not have the distinct stench of rear axle lube. It is not red like ATF and is not as thin as ATF. It is a mid-weight oil with specific additives to modify it for a wet clutch use. The fluid is available from any...

Re: Moving Key Fob Internal Parts to New Fob: Programming Needed???
No, snap it together and it works. The fob makes radio signals and the systm on car has memorized the signals. Battery removal has no effect on the radio transmitter in fob parts.

Re: 2005 V70NAM56 No start condition, prelim diagnosis 30742823
There is a board soldered relay for fuel pump in CEM. It is the source of power on A16 at CEM. On your car it feeds PEM. You can check it with voltage drop between pos post at engine fusebox to CEM A16. Not a high failure rate that I am aware of but 2005 is the first year of P2 CEM II so it is the o...

Re: Recommendations for great clamps for silicone radiator hoses
Constant torque clamps are used in many applications with silicone hoses. Intercooler hoses on commercial trucks running 25# or more boost use those. you can find them on amazon or ebay if you search "constant torque clamps". Breeze brand are good.

Re: Brake vacuum pump: buzz on press, buzz on release. Normal?
when the car is first started cold that is normal. the variable valve timing controls and ignition timing are manipulated for emissions improvements and manifold vacuum is very low. pump is fitted for this reason. if it is busy like this all the time there is something else going on. an issue that y...

Re: Fan relay wiring to coolant temp sensor?
The wires go directly to the ECM. The ECM reads ECT sensor and selects the hi or lo fan as needed. A/C high side pressure sensor is also what the ECM uses for the hi and lo speed decisions. If the ECM misses lo speed and then the high pressure or temp goes to level for hi speed then you get idle bau...

Re: How to shift to neutral without key
Remove air cleaner box and detach the cable from lever on top of transmission. Two clicks and you are in Neutral. It will only move one way as Park position is an end point and it will not move any further in that direction.

Re: '04 xc70 windscreen washers not functioning
I find the check valves in the lines just under the nozzles to be a VERY common problem. Those keep the lines from draining back so the squirters squirt immediately and you don't get much dry blade on glass time. The washer solvents dry out and plug them. Usually they have to be replaced. If you tak...

Re: 2010 XC60 T6 - Eternal P0420
When the front oxygen sensor(s) has been used to determine fuel mixture and fuel trim has been adjusted without going out of the allowed adjustment band and then the rear (post-catalyst) sensor is not signalling the correct voltage. When front sensor is OK then the rear sensor should be .62 to .75 V...

Re: I cannot find the crankshaft locking hole position
On the short I6 engines there is no hole. There is a tool used to turn crank with a 1/2 in breaker bar. The tool has a spring loaded pin that pops into a hole in block and stops crank in the timing assembly position. The use of tool requires that the front engine crank plug be removed (the black plu...
