Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

Finally was able to find a good replacement fender for my wife's 97 GLT (bad paint on the topside).

As a bonus, the '00 XC70 that appeared on the yard the same day donated it's 21.5mm front sway bar.

Re: 850 Sound insulation on the conductor side

Remove:
1. Cigarette lighter panel (2 screws)
2. Washer under the handbrake lever
3. Cover for the glove compartment.

Loosen the connectors for the tunnel bracket.
Remove the 4 screws and remove the bracket.

Along with a nice glass of wine ! Doing battle with the interior can be a chore.
Our friend Robert DIY has a video of replacing the shifter knob on his car, he removed the entire assembly, and there was a vise and large hammer involved.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

Putain de merde ! For future reference, I wonder if orthophosphoric acid is available in Europe as some generic compound, or in powder form to be mixed as needed ? As mentioned, it is only a third of that cost here. Must be retaliation for the import taxes levied against French wine when it wades a...

Re: 850 The pin that attaches the disc to the hub is broken

Check your front struts and the rotors for warpage. Could just be warped rotors which will give you a surging feeling, or the front end of the car is taking a dive due to bad struts/springs.

Did you bleed the air out of the brakes while/after doing your work?
