Re: Anal retentive
Prior to old pads being removed you often will have to pry the caliper open a bit. The wear edge on rotor often binds things up and makes this step aggravating if this isn't done. Once pads are removed the pins the calipers slide on, in this case the 7mm hex long bolts, need to be lubed with silicon...

Re: Anal retentive
On these sliding calipers I've gotten away with just pulling the caliper hard towards me. That compresses the Piston enough to remove them easily. No need to pry and risk making marks in the rotor.

Re: Next Tming Belt replacement?
2002 P2
A. You are due up in 2023 or 227,000 miles - which every occurs first.
B. If you live in CA MA ME VT NY you already know you are special, and your timing belts lasts 150,000 miles. The 10 year interval does/doesnt apply - not sure.
I would follow A above, either way.

Re: Rear Wiper Arm & Rear light Bulb
A) 1. Fold up the cover 2. Remove the nut 3. Detach the arm and blade. Note: there are two different rear wiper arms. Which one you need depends on your chassis number. B) 7506 and 1156 are very similar but they aren't identical. They are functionally interchangeable. If the base of the 1156 is plai...

Re: 2002 V70 Rear Relay/Shunt Removal?
DrDan, all I wanted to do was replace a single, potentially worn out relay. The one I was told that operates the left rear fog lamp properly is on the right hand side of the REM and it is blocked by the trim panel. Seems like a stupid location for it since I can't get full access upon opening the a...

Re: Left rear fog lamp/Multi-purpose or not?
I went out and took a few pictures, including of the world's least read book. Euro spec bulb is BA15d 21/4W. What that is in US numbers I don't know.

Re: Left rear fog lamp/Multi-purpose or not?
Yes, there is a single rear red light fog bulb on driver's side, that is supposed to come on by pressing the fog switch. You may also have the daytime running lights that come on always as the car is running - front and rear And if you've got DRL* then yes it's the same 5/15w bulb. *Front and rear ...
