Re: PCV Breather Box
Now. that you have great info about the separator box, let's circle back to your original question: if the ... "oil separator" is the main part that would clog up after many miles of driving. I can't afford the $200+ for the whole kit so I was hoping replacing this alone would help my stal...

Re: PCV Breather Box
As others have said, PCV replacement is time consuming but not super technical. My biggest fear was forgetting a clamp or something after getting the intake back on. This will give you an idea what you'll be up against on a non-turbo car:

Re: Changing out the Fuel filter
For others picking up this thread... I just did this on my 2008 and pulled the fuel pump fuse to run the car dead and relieve pressure. To my surprise there was a Schrader valve at the fuel filter to drain the remaining fuel out into my drain pan, pretty handy. Don't recall having that on my 2002. F...

Re: PCV Breather Box
Yes. However do your research first and assemble the correct tools. Don't go at it like a bull at a gate clean parts and take photos for reference as it goes. Know what your doing and feel confident but also aware of what could be more difficult than expected. There's always one faster which is hard...

Re: Starter Motor Life?
How do I do that? Check the pressure in the ramp? Special tools needed? Yes, Schrader valve on the ramp. Something like that is needed: www.amazon.com/BETOOLL-0-140PSI-Injector-Injection-Pressure/dp/B00VV29NHM/ Can get one at Autozone, etc. Fuel pump primes the pressure when key is in position II. ...

Re: Starter Motor Life?
Do you need two turns of the key to CRANK or two to turns to START ? First is a starter problem, second likely fuel delivery problem. At 150,000 miles, it’s a hood time to clean out the pcv system on a P2. When you do that , the starter is a5 minute removal. Take it to an auto electric shop and have...

Re: Starter Motor Life?
Either that or fuel pressure damper. Very old fuel filter can be clogged, too, but given the age, my bet is on fuel pump.

Re: Starter Motor Life?
There is a check valve built into the fuel pump, that may be failing. Test: using a fuel pressure gauge, check the pressure right after turning the car off and then at several intervals until the next morning. If pressure drops over time, then it is likely the check valve. Solutions: (1) replace the...

On Youtube, the FCP Volvo guy goes thru the job on a 2004 S60. Watch the video and take notes on the order of things and how he gets things apart and back together.
