Re: Misfire - 2005 XC90 V8
Some minor updates here... 1. Today I had a light-bulb moment and realized that I forgot to put the clips on the injectors - the ones that clip them to the fuel pipe. Don't know how I missed that. That would probably account for some fuel smell, probably also let the pressure fall off and maybe acco...

Re: V8 Balance Shaft
Hi bypass, When I did this, I did not have either 9997025, 9997245 or 9997246. 7245 is only used for pulling out the balance shaft with the old bearings on it, when you don't care about the load going through the bearings because you're going to replace them. I used an appropriately sized bolt and s...

Re: 2008 XC90 4.4 V8 Sport
Others may chime in but I always start loading the parts cannon with the cheapest stuff first. Based on the comment I’d drain and fill the transmission fluid with the proper stuff and see if there is improvement.

Re: 2008 XC90 4.4 V8 Sport
I agree with Krons - a transmission fluid change is relatively inexpensive and a good place to start. The spec you want is JWS 3309. Options include the Volvo fluid, Mobil 3309, Toyota Type IV, to name a few. You could also take the step of resetting the adaptations after you do the fluid change - t...

Re: First time purchase tips: 2010 XC90
The CarFax states “3.2L I6 F DOHC 24V All Wheel Drive” - does this mean it’s a turbo or are all of these turbo?

Re: 2005 XC90 2.9 ltr awd tr6 high ECM-6140 EXHAUST CAM CONTROL -SLOW
Same code, similar issue for my 2007 xc70. Slightly rough idle and ECM-6140 after doing a timing and PCV job. Spent hours triple checking timing (and confirmed via cam adaption angle in vida), replaced both VVT Solenoids, only to discover an old cracked and corroded pigtail by the connector. IMG_101...

Re: XC90 t6 2004 - Bulb Failure Low Beam
Sorry for the holy massive threadbump but I just solved this exact problem on a customers 04 XC90. I figured I'd share it for anyone else in the future searching the net for a solution.
Check fuse 38 INSIDE the car on the drivers fuse panel. Mine was blown. Lights are working again!

Re: 2006 xc90 SRS light on-iCarsoft 2.0 won't clear code
Address the battery issue. The low voltage code is one that self clears when the voltage is restored to normal and it passes normal diagnostics a few times. Something that occurs in the first 10 seconds or less. You can verify using jumper cables or a battery booster gizmo and turning on ignition an...

Re: XC90 Windshield Wiper Arm Assembly Installation
A bit of grace goes a long way on these forums. Not trying to pick on you chitownV, but a question comes away a bit different than a statement. It looks like you missed one of the most important things while in there. To clear out the drains to prevent water from damaging the CEM. “ Did you happen t...
