Re: Injector Failure, a rare and horrific tale of woe

I don't have any experience doing internal engine work more involved than a head gasket, but I can learn. What's your threshold for a rebuild before install? Is a healthy 84k mile engine still worth rebuilding? Should I plan to rebuild the upper half no matter what to save future grief? Anything el...

Re: 2007 XC70 Oil leak?

Check the PCV system is not blocked by doing the latex glove over the oil filler cap and check if it inflates at idle, and further inflates when rev'd. If it sucks inward all is good. 1 - crescent wrench
2 - rock
I carry a flat screwdriver, 3/8" ratchet with 1/2" socket and 10 mm wrench in my Toyota pickup. First two are for the chainsaw.

Re: 07 XC70 Accident - Replace Fender/bumper?

I would also inspect the steering rack, tie rod/rod ends, and suspension very closely.

Re: Idle low at 500 rpms. Where to look?

Look first at the fuel trims (STFT, LTFT). If it indicates unmetered air sucked in then smoke the intake next. No holes found - look at MAF. If the engine is turbo, IAT is also important. More important than MAF in fact. Is there any crash course for fuel trims? I hear about it often but I'm not su...

Re: Idle low at 500 rpms. Where to look?

I forgot to mention both oxygen sensors are supposed to be replaced every 100k miles. Old upstream sensor will degrade engine efficiency (MPG drops), old downstream sensor will report the dead catalytic converter.

Re: No Heat - right side V70 2007 CCM-DD22 LIN BUS 2

After replacing any damper motor you need to run identification, then calibration.
