Re: When is it necessary to "use new screws"?
I disagree a little. Volvo lists replacement for head bolts on short I6, the VEA 4 cylinders (Drive-E), and diesel white engines. All of these use torque plus two angles and I think some diesels uses two torques plus two angles. Red block and the gasoline white engines do not list head bolt replacem...

Re: Massive Coolnt Loss Tonight - Advice Needed
If the a/c was off and it was idling then the cooling fan would not come on until coolant temp went over 220 F. That seems high to us but it is the temp range most brands use for 20 years now. In workshop techs never leave the cap loose or off with car idling extended as they don't want to clean up ...

Re: 2004 S60 Power Steering Leak
...so from the above conversation, I'm planning on replacing the PS reservoir - it looks like that's definitely the problem according the picture, right? Which round short hose are you talking about - would you happen to have a link to the part? Is this also easy to replace? How much do you think t...

Re: 2006 Volvo S60 2.5 AWD, Endless search of problem
That's worn enough to start binding in my opinion. Worn.JPG When you zoom in more closely, the profile of a couple of the teeth on the bottom of the large center gear is worn down to a "V" shape as opposed to the others that have retained their original profile more like a pencil with flat...

Re: '04 XC70 -- Detailing Product for rear bumper cover?
The most ridiculous and inexpensive fix: black liquid shoes wax I've done this 2 years ago and still stays black. Perhaps not dark black like a new trim but no longer the grey-ish thing

Re: Should i keep car with these issues
Here is a pictorial of a good working PCV checked via the glove test. This is my 2004 S80 T6, the 5cyl has the same oil spout and cap. I hope this helps! June

Re: 1 week Maintenance/Upgrade Plan (Stage 0 to 2)
So I tried the dealer first and they no longer sell spray cans of my color, so I found a local auto paint shop that can match vehicle paint codes and put the paint in spray cans. My dealer confirmed the correct paint code by using my VIN but it's also on a placard on the vehicle somewhere. You can u...

Re: Why does it seem like there are so many blown HG's with S60?
I think that S40 may need some attention to the left tail light and there is also a possible risk of water getting into the cabin. I suggest that interested buyers be sure to have a mop in the car - in case of emergencies. And what is an octopus hose? This is it for my daughter's 2007 C70 2.5T. June

Re: Changed spark plugs, now getting new misfires
Last week a 2004 XC70 rolled in with a blown fuse and shorted coil pack wiring. I can't recall the fuse number but it was one of the tiny ones under the hood and it was 20A. That loom was so fused on cylinder 2 that the coil pack had overheated and melted. Most of the split tubing was in reasonable ...
