Re: 1997 Volvo 850 GLT Radiator Hoses Preventative Maintenance?
For rubber hoses imo it is less the mileage, more the age and maybe heat cycles(?) that will kill them. I have replaced all the coolant hoses on mine and if you plan to keep it I would also recommend to do it. It is not that difficult or expensive. And who knows how long these parts will be availabl...

Re: 1997 Volvo 850 GLT Radiator Hoses Preventative Maintenance?
Heater hose lines, the ones that go between the fire wall to the heater core? Yes. I'd recommend to get the do88 silicone lines and reuse the original hardlines. requires some DIY work, but it is not hard. I only ever inspected them visually since it is hard to get to, but when I replaced the heate...

Re: 1997 Volvo 850 GLT Turbo - very small hose above lower radiator hose in engine bay is broken.
4 or 5 mm hose should work. I have both, but can't remember which I used most commonly. Measure the outer diam. of the line, substract 1mm and use that as hose ID and you should be fine.

Re: No compression on 1 - burnt valve?
Lots of work. I would also check the injectors, we don't know if they are the reason for it, but it won't hurt and is sensible imo. Maybe someone offers cleaning, or you can get refurbished ones... You an also try to clean them by yourself, build something to actuate the injector and spry carb/intak...

Re: ABS issues
On the s70 I had the rear sensors failed one time. I remember I was able to get into the ABS on an obd2 tester and check the live data of the sensors, and one wasn't reading. It is not always the computer.
Replacing sensors with cable was a pain though with routing the cable.

Re: Headlght wiper
btw, I am done with rebuilding them, but did not have any time to reinstall and try them for real. I don't think you need to replace the motors, they seem way overbuilt, but the brushes and rotors need to be sanded down a bit for them to work correctly again, at least on mine. I wanted to wait until...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
I finally finished 2 rust repairs (tailgate and roof-antenna hole). So I'm driving it again and again got a srs code <212 driver airb. Open c.> after it sat for a while. Meh, I ordered a used clock spring, maybe I'll try that as a fix when I feel like it. It seems to go away after I clear it until i...
