Re: Robustness, reliability, problem areas of '01 5 speed manual trans?
Abscate, Could you please clarify? Do you mean you have two vehicles, each with over 250K on a clutch? If so, that would allay any concern I might have about clutch/flywheel longevity. Jim Clutch life comes down to how it is driven , not the parts. V70 T5 1999 still on original clutch, 256k miles V...

Re: Volvo XC90 - Why you love yours!
A nice deep rub of CONNOLY’s leather restorer has given it that nice Rolls Royce smell of luxury… Which Connelly's product do you use for the leather and where do you get it? I watched a video on it, apparently they used it to condition the seats in the Concorde regularly. Good stuff https://www.am...

Re: A $100 '99 V70 GLT
Just set the tensioner in the middle of the range to start. A 6mm hex key is perfect for the adjuster. Remember you go past the middle position , the ease off and come back to it per Volvo. Turn the belt through two revs once on by hand , then set tensioner with engine off, before starting The setti...

Re: A $100 '99 V70 GLT
Well, stop the presses. I managed to put hands on both sets of the Volvo seals I thought I had in inventory, so one will head off down to TExas tomorrow. We would love to guinea pig the Elrings - but Robert has already done that, and they dont last. In case you were wondering about doing the seals f...

Alldata sale, coupon code nojoke 20% off
I use alldata for my fleet as I can run it on a phone or pad, from anywhere in the world.
3 year subscription is $112 with discount , which is 1/3 hour labor per year. Bit more than it used to be but frankly it was underpriced before.
Use coupon code ‘no joke’ to get the discount

Re: ETM light - 1999 V70 x/c
The definitive way to check an ETM is a sweep-test in VIDA, not really a good subsitute for this.
The white label 2017 sensor is contactless and shouldnt be failing in 8 years, so I would check connectors and other stuff first.

See the thread on the ETM room Forum for the right part number - you want the same one you have above.
