The early throttle bodies go through about 10,000 miles of futz before they kick the bucket, it might be it got stuck from some carbon and is fine. Keep driving and keep an eye open for ETM codes

Thats probably the diode that protects the circuitry from spikes when the relay opens that blows on reverse polarity, but that should blow a main fuse upstream, failing closed circuit.
