Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
So I changed the rear springs, shocks and the bearings that keep the shock in place at the top. One bolt of the bearing broke, but it was easily fixed. I'm saving up some money to do the front struts, but even now the driving experience is so much better :D https://photos.app.goo.gl/woK9vw9rKTzd5dP...

Re: V70 2.4T (P2) ECM-262A (P2097) - upper O2 sensor?
don’t appear to have any intake or exhaust leaks. The engine will typically die when I start it unless I step on the gas a bit during starting. I don’t have ANY trouble with driving on the highway or acceleration (plenty of power, which I know I would not have if the turbo intake were leaking). Tha...

Re: Brake pad squeal--- request for reviews on ATE front pads
It’s scary that people buy brake pads to keep their wheels pretty vs braking action
Don’t put “ racing pads” on a street car.
99% of us drive in conditions where we need our brakes suddenly and Unexpectedly, like when the guy in front of me on the Mass pike locked up without any brake lights

Re: Front Strut replacement recommendations and gotchas?
Take a look at your end links , in sunny NC you like;y won’t need a grinder for those bolts. Hit them with PB Blaster a week before, and then impact them off. The other cheap option here is to put on fresh springs by hauling off your assemblies and taking them to a shop for a one hour swap over of yo...

Re: 98 S70 N/A 5-Speed: Complete A/C job (yay!) not holding a vacuum... (sigh!) How do I troubleshoot this?
Well, abscate, you're forgetting the silly hand contortion you have to accomplish to attach lines to the compressor... (My god that took hours... I can only imagine what it's like for you Turbo guys!!!) Heres the pic of cracking the Compressor hard line bolts, these can be H6 or Torx, Ive fou...

Re: Good thoughts for Grayson the Volvo Cat
Well, with heavy heart I had to drive him up to Saratogato say good bye. He took a sudden worse turnon a Thursday night, and this morning I knew we had run out of options. Abby and I spent the afternoon holding him,he wasn’t up for much walking, but just purred andpurredand purred andfelt loved. Sle...

Re: The Ever Alluding Oil leak
This gasket makes no sense in terms of the spatter you get when it goes, so I ignored an early recommendation from MoVolvo to replace it. It was exactly the cause of the same huge spray oil leak you describe for me. Replacement thread here with photos https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtop...
