Re: M56 Won't go in any gear
Did you check the CV axles? Did you install new one (s) by any chance? The reason why I'm asking is because something similar happened to me in the spring with my 05' V70 with same tranny. It turned out that I installed the wrong CV axle on the driver side (replacement axle was incorrectly advertise...

Re: M56 Won't go in any gear
Thanks Dirk!
I came home from work and pulled the drivers side shaft out and sure enough it was slightly shorter than the old one. I then preceded put the old shaft in and sure enough that solve my problem!

Re: ECM 640A & ECM 641A (CVVT issues) - new parts, same problem
The thrilling conclusion to this is that used, cleaned OEM intake and exhaust cam solenoids worked perfectly and after a bit of driving, the CEL is gone. I replaced them one solenoid at a time due to one getting delayed. I put on the replacement exhaust solenoid first and it worked way way better th...

Re: multiple error codes
Found some (only a little) white corrosion on the positive battery terminal. Cleaned it off, and have not had the codes return. Didn't realize that such a small amount of corrosion would interfere with the electronics. Thanks again to abscise and rspi for your help.

Re: 2001 V70XC - Chasing fluid at the bottom of the turbo
Remove the black backup latch by prying down in this view on RH side and then slip it left and pop it off. You have to do this first before you can slide a cuff tool in towards right to psuh the latching springs outward so the lines can be slid apart.

Re: 1998 S70 Ongoing issue with Transmission Range Switch. Pin out of place
It is Pro Parts, or Professional Parts. Their part number is 28430012. The Volvo part number is 9466012.
FCP Euro used to sell it, but I see they no longer do ever since I sent back the first one.

Re: 2001 V70 ETM issue. What else is new?
Update! So I took it into my local Volvo dealership and they performed a ETM software release with the latest software. $88 for the software and $130 for the labour... but it has solved the issues! Clearly either the software was not transferred properly at the Indy or the new unit would not take th...

Re: steering rack replacement
It is very doable. I have done it in a driveway. I am no super-mechanic by any means. The hard part for me was everything falling onto my face. Wear googles. Oil, road soil, rust, etc. Big mess and uncomfortable. Not a fun job by any means. Unlike many jobs where you can stand part time this is all ...

Re: Curing lawnmower syndrome, the easy way
and then go drive it in a place where you can get it over 4000 rpm in some gear and do that for at least three minutes. This will rotate valves which will clean the seat and stems.
