Pulling the chip out of it. Buying the proper holder. Sending it to someone in Sweden who offered to read the bin...

I think it is more likely you have an air intake leak than a fuel pump failure. The filter change is just good routine maintenance and I would do this on a newly acquired vehicle. As JimBee said, look for leaks in the air hose from mass air flow meter and any of the many vacuum lines. Unmeasured air...

The filter (#16) is Volvo part number 3538564.
If you cannot find the filter ... Lawn mower inline fuel filter.
You might want to take a look at #21 the Air vent valve.
