Re: Corrupt Canbus, xemodex said good luck
Damn, the ETM has to go with the rest eh? Normally i'd be all over it- no question about swapping every last module HI and LO, but..... its mid december in Canada! volvos.jpg - I got the donor car home, I'll start pulling modules shortly. As much as I don't want to swap every single module on accoun...

Re: Getting Volvo key cut, plus FOB concern
The dealer in Tulsa knew that it didn't have a chip but yet he would have to charge me twice the price because they would have to *download software onto the key*. I had a independent locksmith cut keys for my '97 S90 & '98 C70. It cost me $30.00 per key. I supplied the blanks. . By "downl...

Re: 1998 V70 Melted distributor rotor
... I pull the cap and the rotor looks ok but the inside of the cap is completely soaked with a layer of condensation. I dry it with a rag put it on and drive home. ... why is it wet ? ... Immediate, top suspect would be a dislodged rear cam seal. That would get water in the cap? When I got the car...

Cam seals, crank seal, oil pump seal/gasket & VVT hub replacement notes
2004 2.5T XC70 - 279,000 miles. I typed this up a couple weeks ago. Please let me know if there are any corrections I need to make. I had a decent oil leak, & this is what happened after some investigation. This is a pretty well documented topic so sorry for repeat information, but there's a goo...

Re: RPM/Shift flares
A follow up... So, yes the ETM failed. But I believe the REAL source of the problem to have been a "thrashed" intake pipe. Even after the ETM replacement there was still "surging" happening @ about 2700 rpms. Once I replaced intake with an upgraded Snaab pipe 😉... ZERO RPM flares...

Re: Cold weather start but won't stay running...CTS ?
You have it right on the relay by the rad. On abscate's cars there is no fuel injection relay, so he refers to "main system relay" because that's how fuel injection is handled in a 98. On your 850 the main system relays are the three J relays next to the fuel pump relay. It is a stumper, I...
