Re: Spark plug fouling. Bad coil or cylinder problem?
Thanks for the additional input. The shop called today and said a stuck fuel injector is to blame. Simply replacing that cylinder's injector will resolve the problem. I'm not sure how they determined this. They said that immediately after driving, removing the spark plug revealed that the top of the...

Re: No start, no crank, no click. Engine ground failure.
But are the cable ends too corroded, thus needing replacement?

Re: Diary of a 17 y/o with an 850
Those S/V70 T5 Perfo wheels are so sweet. I did just the opposite of you. On my 2000 V70, I put 850 turbo Columba wheels with the rare mirrored right side pair. Good work keeping your car rolling.
This is very true. Ask me how I know.

Re: Rear end collission! Repair advice needed.
No way I'm giving up that easily. 10 years and 100k miles ago, the engine blew, so I bought a used one and had it installed.
Public service announcement: I recommend people in rust-prone states check their bumper brackets and replace them if they are rusty.

Re: Financial Distress Parts Program
I am donating my beloved 2000 V70 manual to the FDPP. Thanks to Matthew for making this possible and to abscate for coming to pick up the car. After owning the car for 17 years, and right in the middle of a major rehab, it was rear-ended and totaled. I planned to keep this car forever so did my best...

Re: When is it not worth fixing?
My 850 brought me to become someone else, someone different, a mechanic, newbie one, for sure, but a mechanic. Very well said. This is also happened to me thanks to me 2000 V70, Matthews Volvo Site, and the UK Haynes manual. I went from being dependent on the dealership to tackling almost any job m...

Re: V70 , 2000 Automatic transmission fluid change
It doesn't help that my 2000 V70 manual has a typo listing the transmission as "AW 50-50 LE". I looked pretty hard for fluid compatible with that incorrect part name. In fact, the 2000 V70 has the AW55-50 LE 5-speed automatic. As everyone says, it requires JWS 3309 fluid (also known as T-I...

Lowest price 850 I've ever seen (Hot Wheels)
How much would you pay for a "factory fresh" red 850 wagon? This doesn't cost $1,250, not even $125. It could be yours for only $1.25!! IMG_20210406_170252.jpg IMG_20210406_170351.jpg I was at the grocery store focused on getting food while avoiding people. I barely knew why my subconsciou...

Re: SUMMER 2021 is NIGH!!! Ac repair tutorial 2017 by JimBee, DIY
That version is 21 meg because the pictures are uncompressed. I've attached a version with compressed images that's under 1 meg which I had downloaded in 8/2018. Looks identical. I have also attached: The AC clutch fix PDF by Nathan Bryant The AC refrigerant recharge thread by pfeener (which I thoug...
