Re: Lowest price 850 I've ever seen (Hot Wheels)
"Honey, I bought another car." "Is it another busted old Volvo?" "Nope, it's Factory Fresh!" My tiny stable is growing. I went to a Target and saw they carry the "Car Culture" expensive Hot Wheels. Yet, the designated racks were empty save for a Porsche 911. I...

Re: MVS 20th anniversary??
Or we could just post links to old snapshots of MVS from Archive.org. MVS in May 2008 . Yup, I remember this era. MVS in Aug 2005 . Phew, a little before my time. How about the oldest snapshots on archive.org, October 2002: The homepage , full of tips just like today. The forums . With so few models...

Re: 2000 V70 AWD 56 engine slow coolant leak
I second the mention to look under the driver's floor mat for coolant leaking from the heater core. I let that go on way too long in my last 2000 V70. What does it mean when pressure remains in the coolant system for 24+ hours after driving? How can this be quantified and diagnosed to be an actual p...

Re: I refreshened my frontend
I'm preparing to do the same thing on my new-to-me 2000 V70. Instead of leave the platform when my last one was totaled, I got another! Now I'm fixing it, starting at the most critical systems (thus the suspension is near the end, after engine, brakes, headlights, etc). I can't wait to feel it ride ...

Re: Setting tensioner
The timing belt tensioner? Here's what I found in preparing for replacing mine: The tensioner is ambient temperature sensitive. The Haynes book says "Using a 6 mm Allen key, turn the belt tensioner anti-clockwise until its pointer reaches the stop to the right of the central notch, then turn it...

Re: Manifold bolt broke
Irwin bolt extractors are amazing for grabbing studs which are slightly exposed. They also work on bolt heads which are badly rusted or rounded. Check out the common sizes in Irwin 394001 and the uncommon sizes in Irwin 394002.

Is this a stock color?
Is this lovely blue a stock color for a V70? What's its code and name? That's too light for Nautic Blue but too dark for Laser Blue. Spotted it on the Massachusetts coast on the same day that I saw a faded red 850R wagon full of tools and spare parts.

Re: PCV Write-up for 1999+ Volvo 5-cylinder 31325709
This thread is more geared toward the 1999-2000 naturally aspirated engines which don't have the dreaded banjo bolt. Here are some threads about the bolt and for the PCV job on turbo engines:
