Re: Seeking wheel paint advice

Off the wall suggestion. Run the same colored rims on the same side of the car and save on painting? No one will notice when walking from one side of the car to the other they are different! There are paint stores out there that can paint match. There was a company recently suggested by a member on ...

Re: P80 headlights Possible to Remove Headlight Reflector, rechroming discussion 8628402 8628403

I just did the refurbishment some weeks ago (ok... a company did it for me). So I just had to remove the headlight and take out the reflectors. It was pretty straight forward. You just have to take out the headlight assemblies, and then taking out the reflectors. You just have to be careful not to b...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

I made a new wiring harness for the driving lights in my daughters 850 to replace the cheap components that came with the lights. One of the connectors inside one light had shorted and melted and caused the fuse to blow. Also installed a brand new Interstate battery. This is all in preparation for h...

Re: How to clean wheel mating surface to rotor?

Any "sanding" or "grinding" is taking material off the wheel hub face. You're messing with the plane of the wheel. I'd say brass, which is softer than the aluminum wheel.

That gives me the heebee jeebees. Note: in the comments there, there's talk of the R strut tower damage. I do see it in photo #101.

Re: Multiple ABS problems in 2000 V70

Hy Firefox I had the same kind of issue with my 850. I've replaced the front ABS RELUCTOR rings (the rear ones were as new) and the 4 ABS sensors. To install the new reluctors in place, i warmed them very carefully to expand steel, then, with a plier, put them in place and that was it. I agree with ...

Re: Steering seized after a rack replacement

Same thing happened to me, on a new-to-me 99V70 a few months ago. When I finally got the subframe and rack on the floor (a whole 'nuther sporting event), it had a Cardone rebuild sticker on it. Mine isn't back on the road yet, but the old one is useful for its core value.
