Re: 13 S60 T5 AWD engine swap
These things are not that hard to do with a good engine hoist and the car lifted enough. It's not a matter of time, just take your time and go slowly and carefully - I would give myself a full week inside a garage to do it relaxed, but perhaps you will be finishing it in 2-3 days. Usually Volvo bolt...

When you see 'stage 2 xx degrees' it's a torque bolt http://www.volvohowto.com/volvo-s60-v60 ... s-2010-on/

Re: Alternator - 120A, 140A, or 160A?
Car being the 2002 ? I think you could put any of these. Perhaps if the car had the radio amp then maybe the alternator was upgraded, but I think early years got either 120 or 140. I wouldn't worry much, just look to get a real Bosch unit, even a used one with a good pulley clutch. What is really im...

Re: Change Automatic Tranny Fluid Ya or Nah
Just chinning in but the idea is clear: as everybody above, a few drains (that should be about 3.5L each) done a few months distance is the safest way. Using any 3309 oil (Toyota, Mobil 3309) I did read of two situations when a full flush all at once on a high miles transmission that was driven most...

Re: 2002 V70 x/c springs
The handling/stability at speed wont like this, plus you may have camber issues causing uneven tire wear. My S60 got lifted from replacement shocks and ouch the change

Re: Which ones are good and which are trouble?
The 2003-2005 T6 biturbo are the ones with the GM transmission. Usually very cheap. You may find one which had the transmission replaced 20000 miles ago, good for another 30000 miles. But most go on sale when the transmission starts acting - a mere $5000+ fix Other than that, the XC90 is not a cheap...

Re: '04 XC70 -- Detailing Product for rear bumper cover?
The most ridiculous and inexpensive fix: black liquid shoes wax I've done this 2 years ago and still stays black. Perhaps not dark black like a new trim but no longer the grey-ish thing

Re: Ignition Coils
Usually no need to replace the all. Only use Bosch - see Fcpeuro or Ipdusa for new ones or Ebay for used ones as mentioned. If you go used ones see this www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHLgXQo6E9c But even more important, find out why the coil failed. Usually it's a thermostat problem on the 3.2, it cracks ...

Re: Steering, how to check by Volvo procedure.
Was the inner tie rod replaced on that side? When these are being replaced, the inner centring bushing can fail upon torquing the tie rod, if the rack bar is not counterhold (Volvo has a special tool for this). Not always but may happen. Anyhow, you need a replacement rack so look for a used one if ...
