Re: 1998 v70 GLT hesitation accelarating
Highly suggest a stage 0 refresh - new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and coil (use only Bosch - ask me how I know). It’s also not a bad idea to also replace the camshaft and crankshaft position sensor, as faulty ones can and do cause phantom misfires and/or misfire codes

Re: 2000 Volvo S70 Towing Capacity
An air cooled type 3 weighs under 2000 pounds. You could dolly that nice and slow, but stop every 2-3 hours and let things cool off. With an M56, you don’t have to worry about ATF temperature! I just trailered a 3500 pound v70 with an NA V70 and it was near the limit of safe , power wise. Look at m...

Re: 1999 Fuel Pressure Regulator
This ended up being the coolant temp sensor but at least I learned a few new things along the way. hi I'm having extended crank times just curious, how does the coolant temp sensor come into play here, and why did this fix the issue? al Coolant temp sensor determines fuel mixture at start - if it's...

Re: 1999 Fuel Pressure Regulator
hi I'm having extended crank times just curious, how does the coolant temp sensor come into play here, and why did this fix the issue? al Coolant temp sensor determines fuel mixture at start - if it's hot, less is needed, if it's cold, the mixture is enriched. When the sensor goes bad, it tends to ...

Re: 1998 v70 GLT hesitation accelarating
Plugs will likely be a big difference. Make sure they are gapped to 0.028". Glad to hear there is an improvement!

Re: 1998 v70...heater blend doors put heat only on dash
I also use an ELM 327 el cheapo BT dongle for my '98. It's worth reading through my climate nightmare thread here: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=102381 There's a ton of good info and diagnostic aid in that thread when I went through everything in my car to fix my own drive...

Re: 1998 v70....larger rims and tires
Yes you can. Make sure the center bore is the same. P80 and P2 wheels fit. If you want wider tires and rims be careful of rubbing on the inner fender at the front and rubbing on the parking brake cable at the rear. Offsets vary. Standard is around 43mm.

Re: 1998 v70 stalling issue
A bad cam position sensor can prevent starts and cause stalls i believe. Alsobad vacuum lines on the intake manifold (check passenger side of it) which can cause the car to stall out. A fuel pump that has gone bad will have no pressure at the regulator (had a 99 T5 do this to me the other day). I wo...

Re: 1998 v70 stalling issue
If you have a code scanner then check the engine parameters at the time of the stall. I believe the 98's can store freeze frame data so see when the misfires/other codes are triggered. Check for a broken engine air intake. The heat cycling slowly destroys these and that can lead to weird stallout be...
