Re: 850 Gasket for the trunk

Here in the USA, I would measure and go to a well stocked hardware to look for a hole grommet or plug. They are a stock part in many sizes.

Re: #($*@! brake hoses and flare nuts—ideas?

I have successfully replaced brake hoses on my 2001 V70 at about 190K miles. Mine did not have excessive corrosion on the parts. I used SK flare wrenches. They are thick and rigid. As I recall, one end of the connection is effectively locked from rotation by the bracket (the steel tube end I think)....

Thanks. IPD ...

Re: 850 Radiator coolant leak

My 2001 V70 T5 developed a radiator leak at the hose neck at about 180K miles. It was slow leak and only under pressure. I replaced before it got worse so I would not have to worry about a sudden, large failure.

Re: Dirty intake manifold - How to clean?

Carb cleaner will cut these deposits. A stiff brush (brass or nylon) will work better than a pipe cleaner. You will have to do some scrubbing. You can also clean the outside for improved appearance with alcohol and tooth paste (yes really). The tooth paste acts as a polishing compound to shine up th...

Re: Finding generic parts like vacuum lines and clamps

In the cases where semi generic hose parts are no longer available, you may be able to get the advice of a knowledgeable auto parts counter guy. A good one with gray hair may be able to advise what will be a good replacement. You will have to shop around to find a counter guy who knows more than how...

Re: 2004 XC90 AWD: Water in the Footwell

Another possible water leak path is from the seal at the blower motor and fire wall/cowl. See my post for a solution I made for this problem.
