Re: 850 1995 Petrol 2,5 L 20S Exhaust manifold
Is your flex joint bad on your exhaust manifold (#2)? When I had my NA '96 GLT, that failed in me as well. I was able to find a new flex joint with a flange on it and welded it on as a replacement. https://turbochuckcom.ipage.com/webimages/projects/96%20Volvo%20850/New_flex.jpg Good opportunity to ...

Re: Let's play Name That Car
It is a flow through evaporative air conditioner about 1950 vintage. I think someone added the Chevrolet logo.

Re: X-Ray Auto 20th Anniversary Party
I like vintage GPS devices. I have many from the 1950's gathered by father in law.

Re: Can you gap your own Spark Plugs? 1998 v70 non turbo FWD
Measuring tools all have problems with accuracy to some level. I once checked a feeler gauge set with my dial calipers (that I thought I could trust). Some of the thin sheets where way off, but most were good. When I worked for a manufacturing/machine shop, they had a good sized inspection departmen...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
In the interest of helping others convince their partners of the sanity and normality of owning multiple Volvos (and other vehicles), I will add my fleet statistics: 10 Volvos (5 wagons) 11 Mercedes (2 wagons - I like wagons) 1 Smart 1 Honda 4 Fords (3 trucks and one 1938 Sedan) Total 27. Some all j...

Re: Late 80s redblock issue post/article? Premature belt wear.
240 redblock engines have an overhead cam shaft driven by a cog belt. It is driven by the crankshaft and has an idler/tensioner. Unless the crank pulley or the cam shaft pulley are damaged (I think unlikely) the issue is likely the tensioner has gone bad. Relatively easy to change these belts and id...
