Re: 1993 Volvo 850...weird coil wire-distributor issue
This sounds like a classic for us guys that grew up with electrical-mechanical cars. Inspect the distributor cap for hairline fractures. You may need to clean the cap to make them stand out. When the wire is in the cap the current leaks through the hairline fractures. When you pull the wire up the r...

Re: It's time to start bulking up on 850s
I see four stages to any car model: 1) New, available at the dealer 2) Used, widely available but no longer made, inexpensive to buy and maintain 3) Rare, running examples fetch decent money -- "More than they're worth", parts EOL and hard to find 4) Rare & Classic, good example...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
I normally try to do that as well but this is my daily and I need to get to work on Monday morning. Nothing like a deadline to boost the fun factor.volvolugnut wrote: ↑28 Aug 2021, 12:59
When the days get above 90 degrees, I work outside only in the morning.

Show us your MVS t-shirt
My MVS t-shirt arrived. Already, I have obtained more youth and energy. Just look at that air intake work in the background. Could only do it with MVS.
Show us your MVS t-shirt, perhaps with a car project, wrench, gained energy, etc.

Re: What steps will you take to reduce your carbon footprint?
Renew, repurpose, restore, and recycle. Seems like most of us do that to some degree, if for no other reason than we fix our rides instead of replacing them. I heard once that if you keep a car in good running condition, and it's clocked over 100k miles, then your actually creating a smaller carbon...

Re: Cancer/illnesses, and caregiver, support thread
It's been awhile since I've posted, so here's an update on my condition... I've been bedridden for the last two months, with little movement out of bed. What I didn't realize was how bad that was going to be for me. Everything hurts more now than it did to begin with, and my muscles have atrophied q...
