Re: 1999 S70 Timing Belt Needed?
I ran my T5 to 14 years/140k miles before replacement. I did the next one at a valve job at 256k. The p2 has the same interval , but if you use the same parts in a PZEVstate, they are warranteed for 15 years/150k miles. Risk aversion is a personal thing, but there is good evidence that the MTBF is w...

Re: Essential tools for DIY Volvo care.

My old Craftsmen showed signs of spreading and rounding a nut on the Volvo a couple years ago. Spend some real money on your flare wrenches. Wh...

Re: A $100 '99 V70 GLT

When I took the door off, I found a gaping hole where half of the door check should b...

Letterman and Stewart talk about Paul Newman's V8 965 (1995)
STEWART: ...what has been the coolest thing that's happened to you while you've done your show? LETTERMAN: Well, you know, you'd think being in show business, or as close to it as I've come, you ought to have a lot of cool things happen to you. STEWART: Sure. LETTERMAN: And I've thought about this a...

Re: 1999 S70 GLT - Suggestions on broken lugnuts
i got it taken care of. I sprayed both with blaster last night and again today. I removed the calliper, bracket and rotor. Unfortunately there was nothing to grab on to, so I went the way of an easy out. When I drilled the first one, the bit caught and ended up screwing the remainign stud out the ba...
