Re: 2002 V70 X/C sprang a leak
Turbo has cooling lines with rubber connector hoses. You also have the heater lines that run from bell housing down and behind to the firewall to go inside to heater core.

Re: Front & Rear Bevel Gear Fluid Replacement
The rear bevel gear drain plug is harder to reach. The drain plug faces the rear of vehicle. Here's a photo of an extended swivel wrench attached to the 13mm drain plug. http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee376/jwholley68/20190220_162752_zpspeooxgfm.jpg?t=1550619896 This is the rear drain plug afte...

Re: 2002 V70 X/C rear differential oil
I couldn't find a thread discussing the rear final drive gear drain plug so I started this thread last week:

It faces the rear of the wagon. You'll need an extension and wobble joint attached to a 13mm socket.

P2 PCV Service banjo bolt solved lessons learned 31325709
I have replaced numerous s70 breather boxes and only one s60. So when I had to replace the breather box on my 2007 XC70 I dreaded it because of the banjo bolt design. Combed the internet looking for an easy way to do this. If you watch the fcp video on youtube he makes it look so easy. NOT, That's w...

Re: vibration and hum from a/c fan
I had something similar a few years back. My problem ended up being dirt and grim had accumulated on the climate control fan blades making it off balanced. I took the unit out to investigate the vibration, and saw the build-up. Once I cleaned the blades and reinstalled, she was quiet as new. It's no...

Re: vibration and hum from a/c fan
Another way is to undo the windshield cowl piece - the large black plastic piece - without removing the wiper arms, just lift if at the passenger side, and look with a flash light at the fan blower, you get a clear view. May try to slide a hand and remove any debris as mentioned above (don't put the...

Re: Possible connector issue
The Bosch ETA on that car is VERY sensitive to connections. Volvo techs do not unplug them when doing work on cars, they unbolt throttle and set it aside due to the incidence of comebacks for throttle codes and reduced engine performance message. There is a throttle pigtail sold by Volvo and they di...

Re: Air conditioning issues
Did you measure the gap between the clutch & the AC compressor pulley? I’ll include a video. I’ve seen varying specs, but seems clutches cease to work once the gap reaches .60ish mm and beyond. There’s an awful lot of documentation & discussion regarding shimming the clutches on these. If yo...

Re: Air conditioning issues
There's a guy on YouTube, TexasCoder I believe, that shows replacing a clutch on an XC90 without cracking open the refrigerant lines. I don't know if this is even possible on the XC70 though, I haven't attempted it the way he shows. Supporting the engine from above and lowering the front of the subf...
