Re: Remove dents
Volvos are tough metal. My body man says they are the worst to work on because they are the best for safety. That said I think the solution would be paintless dent repair. Dropping the headliner should give access to the dented areas and a good PDR person can make those look pretty much like new. Be...

Re: Should I do the water pump while at it ?
Tough call especially if you don't know the vehicle's history. If you have had it for a few thousand miles then that helps as you can examine it and listen to it. Water pumps will make noises and/or leak before they fail 99% of the time. Here is the problem - some people have lost their engines due ...

Re: How many drain and fills ?
Were it me I would do a drain and fill, drive it for a day or two and then do another drain and fill. After that just do a drain and fill every two or three oil changes.

Re: *** Mechanic Special 2000 Volvo S80 - $500 (Rocky Mount)
You really need to go look at the car. Main items to look at are the body, tires and engine fluids. If all these check out and the car looks to be in good repair figure the following: One or both turbos are bad - figure $230 for two turbo rebuild kits. Figure the fuel pump is bad - I think these are...

Re: Auto Gearbox Clunk Issue
First thing to do is to check your fluid level. Engine running, in park, warmed up, level surface, should read correctly. Optimal to have the perfect temperature but that is not always possible - so let it idle for 2-3 minutes and you should be close enough (assuming cold engine). From there I would...

Re: My CEL saga - any ideas/help appreciated
No surprise - look at my response above. I had the same issue with a counterfeit Subaru O2 sensor.
Mine was purchased on Ebay - where did you get your counterfeit part?

Re: XC90 Condenser replacement, PCV service, engine mounts
I have not done a condenser on your model XC90, but my advice is don't take off anything you don't have to for the required service. The plastic is old and the nuts/bolts are rusty - best leave them alone. PCV is pretty much typical Volvo - removing the intake is the hardest part. Access is plenty w...

Re: 2008 XC90 3.2 AWD vibration and anti skid diagnosis
I have followed a few threads involving the XC90 3.2 (never owned one) - it may be the transmission.
Do some reading on the forum regarding transmission issues and see if they are similar.

Re: '06 V70 upper shock mounts
I ordered a set a number of years ago. Removed the old ones which looked perfect and returned the new set as unneeded.
If they look fine keep what you have.

Re: 04 S60 2.5T Windshield Washer Fluid Reservoir Leak
You can try to repair your bottle by either heat welding the crack with a soldering iron or using some Permatex Black Plastic Welder - better would be to do both. Just clean the area well - solder the crack and then go over it with the Permatex. The bottle is what is leaking - that is all that you n...
