Re: 04 S60 2.5T Windshield Washer Fluid Reservoir Leak
If you can see the crack and have enough space to clean the area up, I would try repairing the crack first. It is a 14 year old NY car and taking parts off causes more issues in broken tabs, bolts ... Try to grind, sand or carve a channel along the crack so that you can get a good amount of material...

Re: Oil seal leaking?
Front crank seal or oil pump gasket - most likely the crank seal. The harmonic balancer and crank gear have to come off, but everything above can be left undisturbed. You can lock your cams via zip ties, make sure they don't rotate, and mark your belt with nail polish or white out to get your timing...

Re: Old transmission fluid change… Risks/Benefits… 2006 XC90
Change it. Did the dealer even look at the fluid? From the sounds of the fluid condition, from your mechanic, your transmission is in great shape. As the transmission clutch packs wear the fluid turns dark due to particulates. It also starts to loose its lubricating, heat dissipation ability and oth...

Re: Dim issues
Are the resistor values listed - if I recall they are SMD. Generally they will either short or go open. Go through the board with this idea in mind. The capacitors are another issue as they generally are not marked. You can try measuring and comparing Original vs Donor. Everything below assumes the ...

Re: Old transmission fluid change... Risks/Benefits... 2006 XC90
For 2.5 Drain and Fill is a great way to go. Do two within 200 miles of each other and then do it every 20k or so. If not the 2.5 do what the mechanic fields best, but I wouldn't do a powerflush (unless he will warranty the transmission for 5k miles). As to transmission fluid - think of it as brake ...

Re: Wiper Arm Cover/Cap Removal Technique
I just pull them off. Looking up the part and seeing the pic - one should be able to pull the sides out and the the square side up and pull towards the round side so the rear tab releases.

Re: 2004 bad turbo and engine? Help!
Volvo doesn't make a bad engine. The 2.9 na and turbo are great motors. On you car the weak link is the transmission. Compression is really low - surprised the car actually runs at all. I would try a leak down test. Also check your timing belt - maybe it broke and caused some damage - but that seems...

Re: 2001 Volvo V70 T-5 wagon transmission
Cooldude: Sounds like your filter is clogged. At this point you don't have much to lose if you want to try some unorthodox repair attempts. You have two of these options. Before moving forward and for good measure check your B4 servo and make sure it is not damaged. Doubt it is your problem, as what...

Re: Turbo Oil Drain Line O-Ring Recommendations
For the Xc90 I did the work from above, but the process appears to be the same for the Driver side (Pass side may differ). If you can do it from below it would take less bending and blind feel. (on an XC70 I did it from below and it was like in the video) I am not sure which pipe you are inquiring a...
