Re: Cigar Lighter Relay Location, 1998 v70
Hi Al, it is only important if you want to use a 2nd charging outlet you were mentioning you needed somewhere to run power to. That way if you used the rear one, you could use the front on for normal use. The wiring harness is simple under the center console and the rear connections are just a spur...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Unfortunately it's unlikely you will ever be compensated by those trucking companies. They usually have some small disclaimer on the trucks that they're not liable for any damages. My cousin once witnessed a dump trunk launch a whole brick from between the rear tires, and directly hit someone's win...

Re: Broken Gas Door Hinge Fix
I suggest aluminum pop rivets. Slow to corrode, easy to drill out, and shallow heads. volvolugnut Hi, I would be afraid to use pop rivets because they deform a little in unpredictable ways when you squeeze the handles of the rivet gun which would probably crack the plastic. It's also hard to contro...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
MrAl, What do you do when the car body does not allow the straight edge to reach the center of both front and rear wheels (the body bulges out)? volvolugnut Hi, Get a acetylene cutter, cut that part of the body off then weld it back on later, or move the "straight edge" (line of sight) do...

Yes i was fooled too the plugs i got were not gapped properly for my 1998 v70. In fact, not even close. Had to bend every single one of them down to 0.028.

Re: Windshield Wipers for Volvo 1998 v70, Dual Blades?
Hello, Then i had to wonder. Could they have been fakes? Imitations made by a cheap company who try to sell their produces as brand name especially using big brand names. We see this all the time in the electronics industry where parts are made with values that are nothing like they really are, bei...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
@ MrAl, Yes I have my own lift, I built the garage in 2008 nd had planning permission for a pit, but when I excavated the hole it filled with water due to the height of the water table, so I filled it in and installed a lift... Old filter removed this morning and left to drain again for another hou...

Re: Speedometer Dead
There are videos on it, the hardest part is getting the case open. Neil. Hello Neil, Oh really? Well for me that would be sort of easy because i have taken plastic cases apart many times using the Dremel. I made up a special cutter for plastic. It's a very very thin blade like a saw blade with no t...
