With as many communication problems as you got. I would pull the CEM, clean and check the connectors. Look for Damaged CAN bus cables as you go.

Trying from memory: I think it is behind one of the trunks side panels. I also think it is resettable.

Cigarette Lighter sockets and 12V Accessory socket are built to different standards. Look close and your find the differences. Got any blank switch positions on the dash?
