Same hardware different software. Even if you get one from a 2002 V70XC, it still needs to be married to the vehicle. Software reload at the dealer or a software transfer by a cloner.

Drop the wires down a large hose and slip the end over the O2 Sensor. Use the hose to turn the O2 sensor.

There is no chip for pre-99 cars so no programing.

A dealer or an authorized locksmith can order a pre-cut key from Volvo. They will need the VIN number and proof of ownership. Some can cut from VIN number onsite.
