Re: Working on 1998 V70 fuel tank/pump/hoses when it's full

Would it be dangerous to attempt to fix a broken vent hose if the tank is full? I'm going to still take a look in a few hours... I'll have to let my mechanic handle things if draining the tank is necessary though, not sure I'm equipped to drain the tank myself. hi i had similar issue and found ther...

Re: 1998 V70 P0413 SAS Valve A open diagnosing

Generally with these types of codes I like to take a shotgun approach and replace a lot of items as you'll likely just be replacing pumps, valves, and tubing again after replacing what was broken. The items that usually create these codes are as follows: 1) Faulty air pump due to water intrusion thr...

Re: Jammed tailgate latch on '98 V70 NA, partially works

Why do you think this will not fit your car? Most North American cars came with 2 stage latching. There ha...

Re: Jammed tailgate latch on '98 V70 NA, partially works

I swapped my latch a few weeks back off a 99 or 2000 v70 into my new 98 v70. All I had to do was ensure the lock indicator was mounted correctly. Was a 15 minute job if I recall. Grab an old one from a yard may be a more long term solution. I had a previous issue where my latch would self lock when ...

Re: Spark plug gap help - '98 V70 NA

MVS members have used that plug with gap adjusted to 0.028. I'd pull them and adjust with a gap tool I trust and know how to use.

For an NA the three electrode plugs by Beru are preferred, which don't need gapping https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... 60-8642660

All 850 models should have the plug gap set to 0.028" (0.7 mm)

Re: Spark plug gap help - '98 V70 NA

It is good practice, regardless of brand or application, to check all new spark plug gaps with wire spark plug gauge.
