Hey everyone, going to be doing a manual transmission oil drain this weekend and just wanted to rehash this topic. I know there have been quite a few write ups about which kind of gear oil to use, but just wanted to share this information with any new users. (Such as myself.) The gear oils listed be...

Re: 98 S70 Rear Exhaust Bracket Part Number Question
Some updates: Couldn't get to this job today before the sun set over Manhattan today... The wife had errands to run and by the time she got back there was only enough time to change the oil. :? But I do have some updates. I am thinking the little hook on the new bracket will go into some hole (right...

Don't mean to be jumping on this thread. But had the same thing happen today to my brother's V70. (I think the boy just doesn't know his strength!) This leaked all over the place! Little red pieces of plastic came out of it... v70_broken_fuel_line_connec.jpg So we ended up using this fuel line...

How to "read" P80 front end noises...
I can't believe I am the only one driving a 20-yr old car who's trying to pin point noises... (Though, maybe I am!) I was thinking this would be a good place to organize and collect known noises and their respective corrections. Of course, trying to pinpoint noises I imagine can be like fallin...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky!!)
Fun Weekend: Swapped out some front and rear engine mounts on my brother's V70. - Had to loosen the fan shroud to do the job... (This doesn't have to be done on the Manual Transmission P80s!) Mounts weren't oozing yet, but compressed by over a cm! Took me 6 hours the first time around. This time aro...

The definitive P80 Power Steering Pump Pulley Tool: Lisle 39000
Don't know what it was about this puller that inspired confidence. But after a little back and forth (and installing this thing wrong a few times) I was able to pull the pulley off. This was off a 95 850 so the pulley was wedged on there for over twenty years!! It was $50 though... I will have to re...
